CranioSacral Therapy Introduction

Taught by Dr. Kalen in Chico, CA at 244 West 9th Street. The cost is $250 for the two day course. A work book is provided from the Upledger Foundation and a discount of $125 is offered toward continuing with the Upledger curriculum. Classes are usually offered many times a year. It is recommended that you register no later than two weeks prior to the class you are intending to attend. The upcoming classes are as follows:

Next class will be Sept. 13 -14 2008 in Chico at our office (see home page for map). This class will be held 8:45 to 5:00 on Saturday and Sunday. The class is offered in conjunction with the Upledger Institute and leads into their curriculum.

Craniosacral Level One

Offered as demand allows.

This course is the continuation of the Intro course above (which is a prerequisite) and will include vault holds and therapies for the cranium plus specific therapies for the pelvis and coccyx. This class is designed to add more specific focus to the techniques taught in the Intro and to allow the therapist to address some of the specific symptoms that patients typically present.

Visceral Massage 1

Offered as demand allows.

This course is based on the work of Jean-Pierre Barral, DO and is structured to be relevant to the massage therapy office setting. Dr. Kalen will teach techniques for evaluating organ mobility and correcting restrictions. Information about referred pain patterns and how visceral restrictions affect other areas of the body will be covered. Related techniques from craniosacral therapy will be incorporated giving the student a complete system for visceral therapy. The course is 32 hours and is offered in conjunction with the Chico Therapy & Wellness Massage School.
